While I do not think that Google+ has any affect on rankings currently, it certainly will in the future. It most likely will not have much of an impact as far as rankings go, but it will bring the same benefits that we see from social media sites today.

Social media is one of the best way for companies to meet their customers on a personal level. Google is all about that type of idea as far as businesses go. Think of it in the way that they want us to find the perfect website in the SERPs, they also want to connect us to the perfect business that matches our search queries.

If there is integration of Google Places in the Google+ profile, I will be very excited. It will be a great way to make Places more accessible, easier to manage, and connect the Google products. As of right now, the products feel separated and fragmented.

Links will always be links, and sharing is a great way to do it. Google+ will be around for at least a few months. I feel that it will maintain a steady user base and climb to a peak within a few years. Google+ will be something businesses want to give their attention.
