Demian Farnworth posted an article on Copyblogger about content creation. His ten lessons for writing great content include injecting observant commentary, wielding charming stories and being a credible authority.
In an article on Search Engine Journal, Tom Demers defended short content. He walks readers through six shorter content types that can be effective in less than a thousand words.
Melissa Mackey offered advice on how to approach ad copy creation in a post on Beyond the Paid. Mackey’s process includes steps such as making sure ad groups are tightly themed, incorporating the keyword into the copy whenever possible and taking keyword volume into account.
Daniel Friscia wrote an article about expanding PPC efforts beyond Google Adwords and Bing Ads. He first touches upon goal identification and starting PPC efforts from scratch. He then elaborates into taking the next step in moving onto other channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Remarketing.
Amanda DiSilvestro posted on the Higher Visibility blog about increasing visibility for events on social media. DiSilvestro covers tips and tricks to utilize before an event, during an event and after an event.
On Content Marketing Institute, Chuck Frey shared five types of Twitter paid promotions meant to help generate leads, build an audience and amplify content. These paid methods include promoted tweets, promoted accounts, website cards, lead generation cards and sponsored tweets. He also gives some additional tips at the end of his post regarding targeting criteria and provided metrics.
Andre Willis of Vertical Measures posted a guide to local SEO for small business owners. Willis explains the importance creating a Google Business page, building directory listings, earning local mentions, utilizing data aggregators and website optimization. He also provides a local SEO checklist at the end of his post.
In another post on the Vertical Measures blog by Andre Willis, page title tags and meta descriptions are discussed in part three of six of Vertical Measures’ SEO 101 series. He explores how to find these two popular types of meta tags and their importance to the SEO process.
On Search Engine Journal, Jesse Stoler posted about the danger of demanding quantity over quality when it comes to link building. Stoler explains what companies should look for when hiring an agency or team of link builders as well as the three stages of a campaign.
Nicole Ende gathered information on link building strategies in an article on the Hubspot blog. She begins by defining link building before sharing some black hat tactics to avoid and some white hat tactics to utilize.
Glenn Gabe wrote a post about how to go about disavowing links at the domain level on Search Engine Land. Gabe provides readers with his five step disavow process to ensure that the wrong domains aren’t affected.
Cory Collins wrote an article on Search Engine Watch on the value of links. He details how links are a fundamental element of the World Wide Web, how critical they are to discovering new sites, how valuable they are in marketing and how critical they are to search visibility.
