Whissen elaborates on the idea of the “1-Hour Rule” necessary for aligning with one’s team to formulate a sound strategy. She also provides eight checkpoints to use in the process to make the most effective use of the team’s hour.

In a continuation of Vertical Measures’ SEO 202 Series, Christina Hecht shared how to use the hreflang tag to help expand content marketing efforts internationally in a short video. It explains how these tags work and how to properly implement them.
David Farkas posted about the role of content in building links on Search Engine Journal. Farkas aims to show readers what type of content to focus on to get better quality links and what types of content they should avoid.
Jayson DeMers wrote about the characteristics of a link that can make it bad for SEO on Search Engine Land. The seven listed characteristics include things such as questionable domain metrics, links obtained from reciprocal exchanges and suspicious keyword-matched anchor text.
