She lays out the “Five Whys” in determining the reasons behind the failure of content marketing efforts and how to identify and deal with a process problem. In addition, she explains the rule of marginal gains as well as the importance of tracking.
Jaime Laats of Vertical Measures created a post on content ideation. Laats provides ten ideation tools and techniques intended to help lay the foundation for the creation of more creative content such as polling audiences, competitor blogs and taking advantage of internal resources.
On Branding Magazine, Elizabeth Simpson provided readers with five ways SEO and PPC can complement each other. These ways include improving exposure, finding better keywords, boosting conversions, combatting bad publicity and utilizing social media better.
Robert Brady examined the importance of the delivery page for a paid ad on the Clix Marketing blog. Brady details the makings of a successful landing page and how it should deliver on the promise of the ad that directs to it.
Chad Powell explored mobile strategy in a post on PPC Hero. He writes on the importance of Facebook and elaborates on findings to determine whether desktop or mobile is providing better results for clients.
Michael Bak wrote about the basics of social media marketing success on the Top Rank Blog. Crowd Interaction, sticking to the budget and mobile are amongst the strategies he looks at.
Jason DeMers made a post on Search Engine Watch about advanced SEO. DeMers offers up five tips to help SEO strategies gain traction.
In the fifth part of Vertical Measures’ six part SEO 101 Series, Christina Hecht covered Alt text optimization. The video within the article explores using Alt text to optimize images on websites and provides three tips for alt text optimization for search engines and human visitors.
Loren Baker posted ten tips for link building and content marketing on Search Engine Journal. Baker’s tips for obtaining natural links through savvy content marketing and promotion include building user links with content syndication, blogger outreach and consolidating content onto one page. In addition, he provides a video of his webinar on current trends in link building and content marketing at the end of his post.
On Search Engine Land, Andrew Dennis discussed the continuous and cyclical nature of link building. He stresses the idea that links should be viewed as part of a continuous marketing cycle.
Nick Chowdrey wrote on how to restructure link building strategies in an article on the Econsultancy blog. Chowdrey lists outdated practices that can lead to Google penalties before sharing alternatives to try instead.
