Friday, June 4th, 2010

logo_advThe weather is shaping up to be, well, typical Seattle weather, possibly some sun but mostly cloudy and rainy, as internet marketers from all over the country descend upon Seattle for SMX Advanced. On June 8th and 9th, the great minds of the Internet marketing industry will congregate in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and share their tips and secrets on paid search advertising, SEO, social media marketing, search analytics and more.

On Day 1, Arnie will participate in a panel, Show Me the Links: Real Life Link Building, along with Chris Bennett, President and Founder of 97th Floor, Debra Mastaler of Alliance-Link, Roger Montti, Owner of martinibuster.com, and Gil Reich, VP of Product Management for Answers.Com. Danny Sullivan, Editor-in-Chief of Search Engine Land and Todd Friesen, VP of Search for Position Technologies will moderate as these link building experts share real life stories of how they obtained hard-to-get-links. These five panelists will bring a wide variety of examples of real link building campaigns that include link bait case studies, relationship building, utilizing Q&A sites and other creative and effective ways of obtaining links. Arnie’s examples include using some old fashioned pirate wit, charm, and of course hard work. The audience will learn how far these link builders have gone for that golden link!

In addition, Arnie will moderate an SMX Advanced Birds-of-a-Feather topic table on Day 2. The Birds-of-a-Feather Tables will take place during lunch so attendees may grab a bite to eat and head to the table of their choice. Arnie will get the conversation going on anything and everything about link building. Attendees may ask questions and talk amongst themselves about all things link building.

SMX Advanced is sure to spark conversations that will last far beyond the conference itself so stay tuned!

Behind the Scenes of Our Website Redesign

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

If you’ve checked out our newly redesigned website lately you’ll see we opted for a more personal feel by adding photos to each of our pages. What you might not know, however, is that each of the photos are actual Vertical Measures employees!

We had a fun and exciting photo shoot with Phoenix Commercial Photographer Darren Stevenson. He provided us with some stellar photos, and we all had a great time!

Below are a few of the photos that ended up on the cutting room floor….
00k_5213
Ralph Miller, Link Building Coordinator, improvised on a few shots while lighting was adjusted. This one we like to call: "The Lazy Man’s SEO". Not quite the right message we wanted to put forth on our site, but great posing on Ralph’s part! Follow Ralph on twitter @FearlessAdvisor, he’s quite a character.

This photo features (from left to right) Kaila Strong, Social Media Architect; Elise Redlin-Cook, Internet Marketing Specialist; and Michael Schwartz, Internet Marketing Specialist. "The Distracted Trio" is a great title for this photo, but again not really a message put forth by a successful Website Marketing Company. Follow the dynamic trio on Twitter (again from left to right): @cliquekaila, @redlincook and @MBSchwartz.

Ralph was at it again, but this time with Eli Shapiro, Link Manager: "Day Dreaming for Links". Their actual tactic for link building is anything but daydreaming, providing great results for our clients. Eli can be found on LinkedIn, connect with him!
00k_5129
And last but certainly not least we have Liz Gessaman, Client Services Manager; and Ardala Evans, Internet Marketing Specialist. "Turn Those Frowns Upside Down by Meeting Those Deadlines!" These gals ensure our success here at Vertical Measures by keeping us to our deadlines. While this picture is fitting for our determined attitudes, it’s far from flattering for these beautiful gals. Find Liz and Ardala on Twitter, @Virtually_Yours and @AZArdie (respectively).
