Web Developer

Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated, talented individual to work on a diverse range of web projects. Projects will include:

• The ongoing development of in-house custom web applications
• Vertical Measures website development and maintenance, including mobile optimization
• Working with content management systems for site management and enhancement
• Supporting the onsite SEO efforts of the client services team

This position reports to the Creative Services Director, and will work closely with account managers and content specialists within our company.

Skills / Requirements:

The position requires a rock-solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS & JavaScript, with strong experience programming in a PHP/MySQL environment. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of programming standards compliance and SEO best practices. Projects will incorporate both front-end and back-end development.

We operate on a team-based approach so accepting direction, while thinking independently to solve creative and technical challenges, is essential in this position. An orientation to deadlines and a strong organizational background is crucial to prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines in the production process.

Effective communication in both written and verbal form will be important in this position. As the web developer will be working with different departments, the ability to openly exchange ideas with a positive temperament while accepting criticism from various personalities is a necessity.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years experience in web development
• Mastery of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL
• Knowledge of XML, microdata, jQuery and responsive design a plus
• Familiarity with content management systems, particularly WordPress
• Attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to great customer service
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with tight deadlines
